Under the guidance the the Rock Soccer Licensed Coaching Staff is again organizing RSC’s winter indoor training sessions. The 2020 session will be enhanced with additional skill development activities while keeping fun atmosphere of Futsal game play. The program will be augmented with parent "court coaches" and volunteer high school players.
The hope is to keep as many of our community players active throughout the winter months as we can. The more a player touches the ball, the better the player they will become. Giving the players opportunity to play year round will help RSC grow and become more competitive with teams in the Spring and Fall leagues. This will be our 5th year offing the program and we hope that our players take advantage of this opportunity during the winter months.
RSC Winter Program is for players in our travel academy and competitive grade school and middle school programs, ages U9 -U14 boys and girls. (Unfortunately due to limited space from the school district, we cannot offer a program for in-house U7-U8 nor High School players this year).
Sessions will be offered one day a week from the beginning of January until early March. Please see details on the table below for your age group:
Please note, the RSC winter program program is not directly connected to Rock Soccer Club's Annual Futsal tournament in March. Signing up for Rock's Winter Program does not mean they will be part of a team for the futsal tournament. Winter program players are welcome to form their own team (typically 7-9 players including a keeper) and sign up if interested.
This will be a coed league with mixed teams each week. However, players will train and compete with players of similar soccer ability and age. The more players that are registered allows for greater flexibility when grouping players each week. Each session will be a mix of foot skill work and futsal games. It goes without saying, the more players we get signed up, the greater the chances of playing with same age groups. Each session will involve 60 minutes of skills/drills followed by 60 minutes of gameplay.
Players should bring their own soccer ball for skill work. The club will supply futsal balls and pinnies for the games, but players must wear a pair of sneakers or indoor soccer shoes that do not get worn outside. Shin guards underneath socks are mandatory.
Registration will be through Demosphere off the Rock Soccer Registration Page link. All communication will be through the Sport Engine App and with the changing Wisconsin winter, please check the app before you start to travel.
