There are many ways to help the organization and offset the $50 volunteer fee.
The fee is refundable at the end of the season after a family's volunteer commitment is met.
The first area of concern is the club desperately needs awareness.
Janesville has over 60,000 people with only 80 playing soccer in RSC.
AWARENESS ~ an idea from RSC was to host a tournament. This will include concessions, fundraising opportunities and further exposure to our community. If there is a tournament volunteers will be needed to run the concessions as well as registering teams, possibly charging for parking for the event so we will need parking attendants.
FIELD MAINTENANCE ~ the club is looking for individuals who would be interested in mowing the fields (training on the equipment will be necessary to mow the fields). We have 5 fields which take 45 minutes each to mow. Also with the mowing comes painting the lines as well. The club is looking to aerate the fields, reseed and pull weeds. Future ~ put in irrigation systems to further maintain the fields. All of this takes time and of course $$$$$. If you have friends in high places who specialize in irrigation systems, lawn maintenance etc...please let RSC know. Remember these fields are the playing grounds for our girls and if the fields are in great shape the opportunity for injury is lowered.
WEB DESIGN ~ RSC has a website and we have the opportunity to have a link for our individual team. So if you are able to design a web page for us. Let me know.
TEAM EQUIPMENT MANAGER ~ This is mainly to make sure there is storage for our team equipment and that bathrooms are unlocked during our games etc. I'm thinking this duty will become part of the team manager's duties?
CLUB MEDIA REP/PROMOTION ~ this all goes back to AWARENESS. However with media etc. Billboards, newspaper ads, website promotions and popups on other websites, bus media, theater promotions, radio...you get the idea. If you have a friend or family member who can help with minimal cost for exposure, again please let me know.
FUNDRAISING MANAGER ~ RSC needs someone who is willing to explore fundraising ideas for everyone to be involved with to raise capital to maintain the fields, pay for coaches, refs, uniforms and additional fees for the club. For fiscal year 2006 RSC was in the red over $1500. It would be great to have reserve funds to meet future needs of the club.
REFEREEING ~ Our girls have the opportunity to be licensed to ref younger soccer games. If your daughter is interested in becoming a referee please visit www.wisref.org the cost is minimal. The class is a one day class and the cost of a uniform. Not only are the girls needed, but us parents can also be certified referees too!
ONLINE REGISTRATION ~ RSC is looking to have online registration including filling out forms and offering credit card payment of fees. With this the site needs to be secure so information is safe. If you have expertise to set this up for our club please let RSC know.
COMMUNICATION - making sure all members of RSC know when there are meetings, tournaments or any type of communication needs for the club as a whole. I'm thinking our team is pretty well aware of what is happening over half of our team was present at last nights meeting! YEAH RSC REAL PARENTS!!!!!
RSC is not looking at one family to do everything nor one team. There are 80 families involved right now. There needs to be communication and awareness to meet the present needs of RSC and the success of the future for RSC.
